A crazy incident took place after Saturday's FA Cup action at the Madejski Stadium where a player was struck by a coin thrown in anger by his own set of supporters.

Northern Ireland and West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt went to give his shirt away to one of the travelling fans after The Baggies lost to Reading in the FA Cup, but instead was left furious after a coin was thrown at his head.

Brunt was understandably upset, and seemed to point out an individual that he thought threw the coin:

That is absolutely shocking.

Speaking after the match, Brunt expressed his shame at the fans for what had happened:

If people come to football matches and think it is acceptable to throw coins at footballers or anyone else, it is disgusting.

I am ashamed of them today.

The incident appeared to spark a scuffle between the West Brom fans, as the actions of one absolute muppet did not go down well with the others in attendance.

Darren Fletcher put the Premier League side in front in the first half, but Paul McShane was amongst the goals as Reading came back to win, and while is it totally fair for the West Brom fans to be upset, but it absolutely disgraceful to throw a coin, or any object for that matter, from the stands, let alone having one of your own players as the target.
