Aiden McGeady has continued his superb run of form for Sunderland as he scored his sixth goal in seven games for the League One outfit during their FA Cup tie against Walsall.
Sunderland are flying high in second place of League One and Jack Ross brought his outfit to Bescot looking to muster a cup run. The team were captained by McGeady for the game and the Irish winger once again came to the fore with a well-taken finish into the corner.

Speaking to Northern Ech0 before the game, Sunderland manager Ross hailed the Irish international's attitude.
Aiden’s bright. He cares a lot about his football. He’ll challenge you in terms of what you do, but I like that. I enjoyed working with him, even before I got him on the training pitch, and we knew that once we got him right in terms of his injury, he’d be a massive asset to us. He’s shown that.
I think he’s enjoying it. He just loves playing football and he’s enjoying his football at the moment. When he’s fit and he feels well, he’s a top, top player. Long may that continue.
Aiden Mcgeady got to be back in Ireland Squad. He is a class act. Playing out of his skin. Hopefully he stays put in January. #coybig #safc

HT and Sunderland lead. Aiden McGeady continues his excellent form, he’s been a real threat and gets his goal (again). Maja has had a couple of chances too. Good game 👍🏼

You know, I feel it's a shame Aiden McGeady has been left out in the cold. Still has a bit to offer I feel, and not like we have any great options otherwise
