What a finish this is! After a relatively slow start to the season, Callum O'Dowda has been in flying form for Bristol City lately. He has been a consistent attacking threat down the left flank, and it has not gone unnoticed by some of the top clubs in The Championship.
He has been strongly linked with a move to Leeds United this month, and he certainly appears to be a player on the rise. The 23-year old has all the attributes to be an excellent winger, with his mix of speed, crossing and passing ability. If he can add some consistency to his game, Ireland could have an excellent player on their hands.
If he can produce more moments like he did tonight in the FA Cup, he will be well on his way to becoming a vital player for club and country. With Bristol trailing early on in their tie at Bolton, O'Dowda produced a moment of magic to get his side back on level terms.
He expertly controlled a long ball on his chest, taking the defender out of the game in the process. He would take one further touch before rifling the ball into the bottom corner. Take a look at this:
Not bad. The composure O'Dowda shows here is fantastic, while the finish was very well executed.
If he can continue his current run of form, Bristol City will do well to hang onto the player heading into next season. Mick McCarthy will no doubt be very encouraged by his recent performances, and he is certainly putting his hand up for selection for Ireland's upcoming Euro 2020 Qualifiers.
