Last night was an unforgettable night for Irish football. Robbie Brady sent Irish fans into dreamland with his header in the dying moments of the game to send the Republic of Ireland into the last sixteen at Euro 2016 and set up a clash with the hosts France on Sunday.

The scenes after the game were indicative of how much the result meant to the staff and players who had worked so hard to get to the tournament and battled against all odds to make it out of what was arguably the tournament's 'Group of Death'.

But at times of great victory like this it is necessary to acknowledge those who laid the foundations for such success. People like Brian Kerr.

Kerr managed Ireland to Under-16 and Under-18 European Championship success with players such as John O'Shea and Robbie Keane and while his own spell as manager of the senior side didn't work out he is widely acknowledged as one of the foundation-builders for all that is good about Irish international football.

So it was great to see Kerr in full celebration mode in France last night. Being serenaded by an Irish fan on a guitar and a rendition of 'Man In The Mirror' by Michael Jackson, keep an eye around 47 seconds for a dance move from Kerr that Jackson himself would have been proud of.

The Irish party bus rolls on to Lyon on Sunday, and it's men like Kerr who started it on the road.

Big thanks to Ed Livo in the Balls Euro 2016 Facebook group for that clip from the early hours of this morning.
