If there's one thing Big Sam likes more than a big pint of wine at the end of a long day, it's getting a win over a manager perceived to be better him.
But when it's Arsene Wenger, it extra special as the two have not seen eye-to-eye down the years, which is understandable considering they could not be more different in every aspect of their being.
Crystal Palace gave Arsenal a 3-0 spanking live on Monday Night Football, and while we wait for Arsenal Fan TV to offer their take, many tuned in expecting Big Sam's smugness to get the better of him, but he gave a very interesting interview were he talked tactics and how Palace approached the game..
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Sam Allardyce cited shape as a major problem for Arsenal.
Tonight tactically was the players being aware of what had to happen to beat Arsenal.
The first thing was to defend collectively as an eleven, to frustrate them, and then to use the ball into the spaces behind the fullbacks. Hit Benteke as early as possible, win the knock down, and get balls into the box.
The weaknesses with Arsenal have been defensively, because they leave Mustafi and Gabriel really exposed. Monreal and Bellerin playing like left and right wingers, the wingers come inside with the centre forward, and they're just left on their own.
So if you can get at them quickly, through midfield and into wide areas, then into Christian [Benteke], you can get it into the box and get chances.
So there you have it.
The Palace players certainly looked like they knew exactly what to expect, and Arsenal played into their hands from there. Mustafi and Gabriel did have a very tough night, but once the away side went behind there was no change of plans at all.
Big Sam will be absolutely delighted with himself, and his players, after that win.
