Last weekend’s Clássico Comperário between Comercial and Operário in Brazil took a bizarre turn after Comercial scored the what turned out to be the game's winner. Jefferson Reis decided this was an ideal moment to go and absolutely batter a young ball boy working at the game.
The ball boy in question does play for Comercial's youth team and was reportedly delighted after they scored a goal, only for Reis to pursue him and lose the rag entirely.
Globo Esporte reported that police now want to speak to Reis after the ball boy's family contacted them.
The incident very nearly sparked a mass brawl as the rivals confronted each other. The incident comes in the same week as Vitoria and Bahi had nine players sent-off during their game in what was, overall, not a great weekend for Brazilian football.
