Antoine Griezmann had just one La Liga hat-trick before last Sunday. The striker now has two in four days.
Atlético Madrid are currently 4-0 and strolling against Leganes thanks to four Griezmann goals. The Frenchman has endured a mixed year thus far but as he has demonstrated in recent weeks, when he is on it, there is no stopping him.
His first came thanks to a glorious through ball that sent the 26-year-old racing clear.
He added a second with a curled free-kick, although questions must be asked of the goalkeeper particularly given his starting position.
He completed the hat-trick with a looping header.
Finally, having linked up well with Diego Costa all night, the Frenchman converted a cross to the back-post to make it four.
Athletico will continue their lone chase of top-of-the-table Barcelona, although Griezmann's recent form is interesting given widespread recent reports, including Catalan broadcaster Esport3, that the La Liga leaders have met his £86million buy-out clause this week for a summer deal.
Just to make the situation that bit more interesting, Atletico's next game this Sunday is a trip to the Camp Nou against Griezmann's possible next club.
