In football, there's a thing known as the 'new manager bounce'. This is a unquantifiable phenomenon which buoys a team into putting in performances down to the man sitting in the dugout.
After a poor start to the season, Lyon got rid of their manager, ex-Arsenal full-back Sylvinho, and plumped for an experienced French replacement in former Marseille and Roma head coach Rudi Garcia. An appointment in the hopes of getting a bit of that unquantifiable 'bounce'.
Since his appointment a week ago, Garcia has repeatedly called on the senior figures of his Lyon squad to showcase their quality and take on the mantle of responsibility.
Having started off his reign with a 0-0 draw against Dijon in Ligue 1, Garcia's second match didn't get off to the greatest of starts. His Lyon side found themselves 1-0 down thanks to a Rafa Silva goal.
The resolve Garcia sought eventually came to the fore in the 70th minute, with Memphis Depay delivering an equaliser for Lyon.
However, this good work was to be undone.
Anthony Lopes, captain on the night, easily collected a ball over the top. Then, in a moment of madness, the goalkeeper decided to throw the ball into a packed midfield. The ball ended up in the path of Pizzi, whose half-volley lofted over the Portuguese goalkeeper to give Benfica the win.
I don't imagine Lopes has gone into the new manager good books after that. Watch the horror show below:
