There really wasn't much to discuss as Liverpool and Manchester United played out a painfully boring 0-0 draw on Monday Night Football, but the man of the match was a clear and obvious choice.
It seemed like Ander Herrera was the only player, certainly for Jose Mourinho's men, who really knew how important the fixture was as he flew into challenges, kept his passing tight, and really organised the team from the centre of the park.
More passes, more touches, and more tackles than any other Manchester United player, Ander Herrera continued his fine form and gave a spot-on summary of the game in his post-match interview:
United better in the first half, Liverpool better in the second half, De Gea made two great saves, neither side deserved to lose, but if you want to win the league you need to win games.
Well said.
He speaks excellently, and judging by his performance tonight and over the past few matches, he could be an outside bet as a future United captain.
