If you're not already familiar with Allain Saint-Maximin, then you may want to change that.

The OGC Nice winger is the latest young Ligue 1 star tipped for the very top, and while Kylian Mbappe may have stolen his thunder last season, this year he is making a name for himself on the continent at his new club.

Despite playing at relegated Bastia last season (on loan from AS Monaco) Saint-Maximin turned heads with his performances before starring for France U20's at the World Cup in the summer. Some had expected him to be promoted to Leonardo Jardim's first-team to fill the void left by Mbappe, but instead Saint-Maximin was allowed to join Nice where he has been showing his former employers what they missed out on.

Against Vitesse in the Europa League on Thursday night, Saint-Maximin picked up the ball deep in his own half before showing off his explosive pace as he charged past several opponents before finishing with aplomb.

And the celebration wasn't bad either.

The level of talent coming through in French football is utterly terrifying, and Saint-Maximin at 20 years of age has shown all the signs of being a player who can compete at the highest level in the years to come.

At the very, very least, he will be an absolute demon in Football Manager, but he really is one to keep an eye on in France again this season.
