This is what pre-season is for, eh? Alisson Becker was absolutely phenomenal for Liverpool last season, and it is highly unlikely they would have experienced such levels of success were he not in the side.
He carried that form into the Copa America, where he was instrumental in Brazil ending their 12-year drought in that competition. Many believe he is even in contention to win the Ballon d'Or later this year.
He will be hoping that the voters weren't watching Liverpool's pre-season friendly this evening.
The Brazilian only returned to training this week, and was thrown right into the thick of the action for the game against Lyon. He would no doubt be a bit rusty, and that proved the case early on.
He was asked to deal with a routine ball into the box inside the opening couple of minutes, and proceeded to make an absolute balls of it. He juggled the ball, before ultimately taking down an opposition player for a penalty.
Memphis Depay would tuck away the resulting spot kick. However, Roberto Firmino would level the scores a few minutes later.
A belter of an own goal would then give Liverpool the lead.
An eventful start so.
It has not been a good pre-season for Liverpool, with losses against Napoli, Sevilla and Dortmund recent weeks.
Of course, all that will be forgotten if they start the season in decent form. If not, their lack of signings could come into question.
