The pre-match analysis for Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City on the BBC taught us two things:
1) The way Martin O'Neill pronounces Harry Kane as 'Harry Cian' is fantastic.
2) Alan Shearer really, really, really rates Harry Kane.
As the sides were waiting in the tunnel, the BBC camera pointed to Kane on the bench, given a bit of a rest from the starting lineup for the FA Cup, which prompted Alan Shearer to reveal what he would do if he was currently a manager of one of the World's biggest clubs:
If I was an owner or chairman of any club in the world, I'd be telling them 'go and get Harry Kane, go and spend £80m or £90m on him'.
Yikes.
There's no doubting Harry Kane is an excellent striker, but that is quite a statement from Shearer.
Sure enough, he's been taking some flack on twitter for it:
Just heard Shearer say if he was a manager he'd tell his chairman to go and spend £90m on Kane.
And that is why no one would employ him.

? Shearer just said kane's worth 90m ffs! He wouldn't start for any top club in the world. Embarrassing how much we overrate English players

I really did rate Shearer as a pundit but he's just said Harry Kane is worth £80-90m. Shocker

Did shearer just say Kane is worth 80/90 million?

90 million for Harry Kane?! What's Shearer been sniffing?

No way does Shearer think Kane is worth £80m. I mean he's quality, but come on. I could easily see him struggling at certain clubs.

At the risk of sounding out of touch.. What the hell is a 'Weetabix head'?
