At the final whistle, Chelsea's 5-1 win over MK Dons looked like a simple FA Cup stroll for Guus Hiddink's men, and it was, as it probably could have ended 14-1.
Chelsea wasted countless chances in the first half, and let MK Dons back into the game with a move that started with Cesc Fabregas pulling out of a 50/50 challenge that he really should have won.
This did not go unscrutinised by the MOTD panel at half time, and Alan Shearer in particular was very clear that he felt the effort from Fabregas was unacceptable:
You can't laugh at that, it's pathetic, it really is.
You're 1-0 up and trying to protect it, you've got a 50/50 ball and you pull out of it, there's no excuse from a professional footballer, I don't care if you're bad at tackling or good at tackling, you cannot pull out.
You can't do it, that is actually pathetic.
He's got a point, that's embarrassing for a player of Cesc Fabregas' stature.
In the end it didn't matter, as Chelsea set up a fifth round tie with Manchester City, but had MK Dons got something from the game then the finger of blame would surely be pointed at their Spanish midfielder, who hasn't exactly endeared himself to the Chelsea fans already this season.
