We've never seen anything like this before.
Just when it seemed like Ajax were cruising to a handy win at Stamford Bridge, the game was flipped on its head in a matter of minutes. The Dutch side had a 4-1 lead in the second half, which would be quickly evaporated.
Cesar Azpilicueta got one back for Chelsea in the 63rd minute, giving Frank Lampard's a small glimmer of hope. Things would soon look a lot more promising after a bizarre phase of play.
During a Chelsea attack, former Manchester United player Daley Blind would proceed to absolutely nail both Jorginho and Tammy Abraham, with an elbow and a high challenge respectively.
The referee would play advantage on both occasions, which would result in a shot from Callum Hudson-Odoi. The striker would hit the arm of Donny van de Beek in the penalty area, with the referee quickly pointing to the spot.
Remarkably, he would go on to send off both Blind and van de Beek in the space of only a few seconds for second bookable offences.
MENTAL FEW MINUTES AT STAMFORD BRIDGE! 🤯

There was some confusion as to whether van de Beek had been booked for the handball or for dissent, but UEFA would soon confirm that the card was indeed for the infringement in the penalty area.
It seemed very harsh.
Unfortunately for Ajax Jorginho would go on to score his second penalty of the night, before Reece James equalised just moments later. They would hang on for a draw, with a helping hand from VAR after an Azpilicueta strike was ruled out for handball.
