Who said you can't win anything with kids? Jurgen Klopp fielded a near third string team against Everton in the FA Cup this afternoon, but that didn't stop Liverpool from extending their unbeaten run against their city rivals.
Everton have not beaten Liverpool since 2010, while they have not won at Anfield since 1999. Today looked like the ideal opportunity to end that run with Carlo Ancelotti selecting a strong side.
They really should have been well ahead at halftime, squandering a number of excellent chances to take the lead.
Liverpool's young side, that lost even more experience after James Milner was taken off after eight minutes, grew into the game as it went on.
They were the better side in the second half and took full advantage in the 71st minute. 18-year old Curtis Jones picked the ball up at the edge of the penalty area before curling an incredible strike into the top corner leaving Jordan Pickford helpless.

Jones is a local lad and has been part of the Liverpool academy from a young age. He has been tearing it up with the club's U23 side, but this an altogether different level.
Liverpool now head into the next round, where the likes of Jones, Harvey Elliot, and Neco Williams are set to be given yet another chance to impress. You certainly wouldn't back against them after that win today.
For Everton fans, they will have to wonder if they are ever going to win a Merseyside Derby again...
