Tim Howard had one of the best performances of his career last night. The American shotstopper made 16 stunning saves in USA's second round clash against Belgium. Howard was a monster between the posts in Brazil, as you can see from this clip of every save he made against the Belgians.
Unfortunately, Howard's heroics were not enough to stop his side from suffering a 2-1 loss to the Europeans which sent them crashing out of the tournament. When asked by one reporter what it was like to endure a barrage of Belgian shots for 120 minutes, the modest American coolly said its what he's paid for.
The veteran goalkeeper was understandably emotional in his post match interview after the American dream of World Cup glory was smashed into shards. Howard broke down in tears speaking about the heartbreaking defeat.
