Their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 secured with Saturday's with against Northern Ireland, the Welsh squad looked on in interest as neighbours England took on Iceland in the final last-16 game.
Wales play Belgium on Friday. Thought they took four points off Belgians in qualifying, like Iceland on Monday evening, Wales will be underdogs.
Perhaps that empathy with a fellow underdog (and a dislike of the English) is why the Welsh squad celebrated Iceland's win and England's defeat with such vigor.
