Virgin Media and eir have agreed a deal to carry their key sports channels on each other’s TV platforms.
Under the agreement, Virgin Media Sport will be available to eir customers as part of the eir sport pack and in turn, eir sport will be available to Virgin Media TV customers.
The content will also be available to those paying for the eir sport pack on Sky and eir sport will be available at no additional charge for Virgin Media TV customers.
The new arrangement will come into effect in the coming weeks ahead of the upcoming Rugby World Cup, and the new season of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
eir sport will broadcast all 48 games from this year's Rugby World Cup. They also carry PRO14, League of Ireland, National Football League and National Hurling League action.
Virgin Media Sport carries the bulk of Champions League and Europa League coverage in Ireland along with UEFA Nations League and Euro 2020 qualifiers.
BT Sport had been part of the eir sport back, which allowed subscribers to watch all Champions League action. However, this summer, BT Sport migrated to the Sky platform.
