Virgil Van Dijk's name should lend itself to a decent terrace chant, and his colleague Andy Robertson got the ball rolling in the summer with an Instagram post that should have received more attention. The left-back shared Van Dijk's pre-season goal against Dortmund with the caption "this is the rhythm of Van Dijk, Van Dijk, oh yeaaahhhhhh ?? #wantshisownsong", a chant we can fully get behind.
It didn't catch on at Anfield, however, but now it appears that Van Dijk finally has his own song. A group of Liverpool fans have reworked the lyrics of the Dubliners' Dirty Old Town in honour of their Dutch centre-back, and having been roared in pubs and murmured on the terraces, Liverpool singer Jamie Webster appeared on the club's in-house TV channel for a rendition.
Watch it below.
