The makers of the much trumpeted Jamie Vardy movie have admitted defeat in their quest to find someone as scary as Nigel Pearson to play Nigel Pearson and are planning to hire Vinnie Jones instead.
According to the Leicester Mercury, the makers of the film want Jones for the role of Claudio Ranieri's predecessor. And so he may be teaming up One Direction's Louis Tomlinson (together at last), the man being touted for the Vardy role.
Film executives and screenwriters - not the kind of clientele who usually show up at Leicester City games - have been spotted milling in and around the King Power Stadium.
Screenwriter Adrian Butchart, the man behind the 'Goal' trilogy, chronicling the Rocky-esque travails of the Mexican striker Santiago Munez, has met with Vardy and has spoken to the Mercury about the plans.
We have to wait until after the European Championships in the summer because we want his story to play out, but we are going all guns blazing to shoot as soon after that as possible, maybe September, October and November time and then, as long as everything goes to plan, we would like to see it released this time next year.
They have yet to disclose whether Academy Award winner Roberto Benigni has been contacted for the Ranieri part.
