This was a bit of a howler from Martin Atkinson and his assistant in the Emirates Cup match between Arsenal and Monaco today.
The initial offside decision was an excellent one, but Danijel Subašic's mis-timed tackle on Chuba Akpom was given as a free kick outside the penalty area. Atkinson seemed to point to the penalty spot, which would suggest that the assistant, almost in line with the edge of the box, was confident that the foul had taken place outside the area.
Monaco went on to win 1-0, but Gunners fans have the consolation of knowing that it cost them nothing more than the summer knockabout they created themselves.
Not only that, they could finally have a decent player in the shape of Yaya Sanogo, who ran riot with four goals against Benfica yesterday, during which Alexis Sánchez came off the bench to make his debut for the club.
