Newcastle United have delayed opening the turnstiles at St James Park after canvas surrounding the giant new screen at the Leazes End broke from its holdings and began to flap in the breeze. The game will kick off at 4pm after workmen managed to secure the offending pieces.
Referee Martin Atkinson, who has had a very eventful week, had ruled that the screen is still too much of a safety risk for fans to enter the ground.
