It looked like it was going to be one of those days for Mario Balotelli and Liverpool. Once again, Brendan Rodgers' side have looked far from their best and without the attacking verve that was so effective for them last season.
Their profligacy in front of goal was never more evident than when Balotelli spurned what was easily the best chance of the afternoon. Not one he'll want to see again.
