Vincent Tan, Cardiff City Chairman and part-time boo-boy, has been launching broadsides all around him today.

Tan has castigated the British press as "unfair and a little bit racist."

And then you have the British press who have has been misled by some people, feeding them wrong information and saying what a terrible person I am and trying to make fun of me and paint me like a villain...  I will say that the British press is unfair and maybe they are unfair because we didn't tell our side of the story that well. And sometimes the British press (are) maybe a little bit racist and quite unfair.

He also has gracious words for his former employee, their browbeaten former manager Malky Malkay. Tan was unimpressed by Malkay's achievement in getting Cardiff into the Premier League, putting it all down to his own personal investment in the club and praising Dave Jones into the bargain.

Do you think that Malky Mackay would have got us promoted without my investment? Without me giving him money? After we got promoted the fans were all very supportive, everybody was appreciative. He (Mackay) didn't do very well at Watford, but somehow our CEO and our chairman hired him and replaced Dave Jones.  Dave Jones actually did much better. So I think Malky got lucky when he came to Cardiff.

Tan has attracted attention for his executive decision to change the team's colours, incurring the displeasure of the fans, and for his other executive decision to boo his own team after a poor performance in full view of the cameras, a rare move among party chairmen. Peter Hill-Wood or Martin Edwards certainly never made it their practice to do this, even before Mark Robbins stepped in.

Tan reminds Cardiff supporters that the club would have "gone bust many times" had he not arrived on the scene. He is "convinced" that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer will keep his team up.
