We may only be entering the second week of the Premier League season, but we've already probably got the quote of the season wrapped up.
Manchester City are taking on Chelsea in the first blockbuster game of the new Premier League season this weekend, and Kompany, captain of City and Belgium, was asked about his good friend Eden Hazard and how they plan to deal with him.
Rather than trot out the usual "We'll have to be on our game" line from the footballer's guide to stock interview answers, Kompany went off script and surprised us with an honest and funny response:
You’d almost hope that Eden Hazard would have diarrhoea.
Now let’s be serious, you can’t underestimate the impact he has on Chelsea. Last week, against Swansea, he maybe didn’t play his best first half, but when they were reduced to ten men, he was the only one who was dangerous because he ran past three-four defenders.
That's... Not something you hear every day.
It certainly would be a boost for City if Eden Hazard was to come down with the runs, but anyone with him in their fantasy football team will be hoping he eats plenty of fibre and steers clear of any potentially dodgy meat.
Thankfully for Chelsea, they have professional dietitians, and Hazard isn't on a lads holiday in Thailand.
