A strong Bayern Munich team took on fellow Bundesliga side Darmstadt in the German Cup on Tuesday evening. Bayern took a 1-0 lead into half time and it came courtesy of Xabi Alonso's right foot.

A corner was headed clear towards Alonso, who was placed around 30 metres from goal. The Spanish midfielder launched an upstoppable shot past Christian Mathenia in the Darmstadt goal.
