Wayne Rooney pulled a 'Phil Bardsley' at Monday Night Raw in Manchester tonight during a 'confrontation' with the eminent wrestler, Mr. Wade Barrett.
According to the good people of Wrestling Online, Barrett and Sheamus were performing in the ring, when the former decided to abuse Rooney on account of his undeniably flat recent displays for United.
Wrestling Online write that Barrett taunted Rooney by suggesting that the 'only two championship material people were in the ring'. See the video below.
We're presuming that Barrett is ignorant of the official name of English football's second tier, and intended this as an insult to Rooney rather than a self-deprecating remark.
Either way, Rooney hit the wrestler with a girlish, Hollywood style slap and the professional wrestler proceeded to hit the floor with stunning alacrity.
Rolling around on the floor as if he were dead, as the pundits on Soccer Saturday might say.
