It's taken them 13 years to cop onto the fact that the world is crying out for a sequel to the brilliant Mike Bassett: England Manger, but better late than never I suppose.
This time around it will be called Mike Bassett: Interim Manager, as Bassett returns to the fold as an assistant to the new England manager – a German by the name of Jorgen Mannstein – until 'unforeseen circumstances' result in Bassett having to take over as interim manager for the World Cup.
The film is rumoured to have possible guest appearances by Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard and maybe even you. Yes, the interesting part is that funding for the movie is being crowd sources on KickStarter.com and anyone who donates £5,000 or more will get a speaking part in the film. For £3,750+ those who donate will get their name on the back of a players jersey.
