Video: Valencia's Kit Man Given Exceptionally Moving Farewell After 55 Years Of Service

Valencia used their final pre-season game of the season against Fiorentina to unveil their full squad before fans at the Mestella, including  Shkodran Mustafi, who looks set to be on his way to Arsenal.

Such uncertainty is anathema to the man who proved to be the star of the occasion: Bernardo España, who has been Valencia's kit man for 55 years. Espana is retiring this year, having been working behind the scenes since 1961: to put that in context, The Beatles were still relative unknowns and playing in The Cavern Club when Espana first began his duties with Valencia.

He was a promising player, but his career was cut short by a motorcycle accident, and was taken on by the club to help out with training while he recovered. 55 years later, he's still there.

Now, however, he is retiring, and  he was given his moment in the spotlight in front of a packed Mestella, and it was quite a sight to behold:
