Manchester United's game against Bournemouth has been abandoned following the discovery of a suspect package in the north-west corner of Old Trafford. The exact nature of this package has yet to be confirmed, although there are serious concerns that it was an explosive device. Journalist Andy Mitten tweeted this in the aftermath of the abandonment:
Told by reliable sources that bomb squad in attendance at OT. Relates to mobile phone device. Might have to carry out controlled explosion.

Mitten's early reports seem to have been corroborated, as bomb disposal units arrived into the ground while Sky Sports were broadcasting from outside the 100-yard exclusion zone surrounding the ground. Sky Sports went live at half-time in the City/Swansea game to provide an update:
In the last few moments, the Daily Mail are reporting that the suspect device was a mobile phone attached to pipework.
The Premier League have also released a statement in the last few minutes, saying that the game will be rescheduled as soon as is possible.
More to follow.
