Shamrock Rovers demolished Cork City 3-0 in Tallaght Stadium tonight, thanks to three lovely goals. The second one, in particular, a diving header from Danny North, was a peach. Cork's loss had the Dundalk supporters singing 'we are the champions' as they dismissed St. Pat's 4-1 tonight.
The game also saw Damien Duff's debut for Shamrock Rovers. Coming on in the 89th minute for the scorer of Rovers' third goal, Brandon Miele, it was a brief but lively cameo.
He buzzed around the place, pointing and issuing orders, winning a free after being shunted onto the ground/going down easily according to the face on the Cork City defender.
The Soccer Republic duo of Damien Richardson and Alan Cawley predict he will make a large impact at Rovers.
Here's North's header which put Rovers 2-0 up.
