Before breaking into analysis of the Champions League final, the RTÉ panel spent a quarter of an hour discussing FIFA's €5 million hush payment to the FAI which has been prominent in the media throughout the week.
Eamon Dunphy in particular defended John Delaney, saying that he has been a victim of this story resurfacing to coincide with the "industrial scale" FIFA corruption news. Dunphy was especially critical of an Irish Times for stating that if any further news which was detrimental to the reputation of Irish football was to emerge then we would be best served by Delaney resigning.
Liam Brady and Johnny Giles also defended the FAI chief executive.
