This video has been lying around on youtube for just under two years. The build-up to one of the most famous matches in Irish football history features RTE Sport's comedic forerunner to Apres Match - which consisted of an ould Dublin 'character' telling a yarn in a pub. Cork comedy double act, 'Cha and Miah' had provided the laughs before the Italia 90 games.
Inside in the commentary box, George Hamilton and Niall Quinn previewed the action with Quinny telling a touching little story about Terry Phelan.
The panel itself has an unusual look. Eamon Dunphy was a big time political commentator then with the Sunday Independent and this may well have been the time he and Gilesy weren't on speaking terms after Giles' critique of Dunphy's Busby book. Either way, he wasn't there. In his place was Frank Stapleton, whose short stint on the panel left a deep impression on the Apres Match boys, and Joe Kinnear - fresh from a stag do in Cork - who at the time nursed an ambition to take Wimbledon to Dublin.
And, sure why not - here's the full game.
