Maybe he really has mellowed.

Roy Keane admitted in last night's ITV4 documentary that he regrets not playing in the 2002 World Cup. When asked what in his career he would do over again, Keane said 'Play in the World Cup. It would have been nice to play.'

He added 'Mick did say to me that ''Well if you don't respect me, how can you play for me?'' What I should have said was that I wasn't playing for him. I was playing for my country.'

When Paddy V was asked if he could imagine what it must have taken for Keane to leave a World Cup, his answer was blunt: 'No.'
