Robbie Keane's still got it. The striker got his first goal in two months on his return to playing in LA Galaxy's facile 6-1 victory over amateur club PSA Elite in the US Open Cup. The tournament is the American equivalent to the FA Cup, and Keane got some vital minutes in the game as he tries to overcome an injury problem that limited his involvement with Ireland in their games against Scotland and England.

Based on his involvement in this video however, it looks like Keane is close to full fitness, as he looked sharp bagging himself a hat-trick and laying on a nice assist for Zardes in a performance that prompted the LA Galaxy website to announce that "The King Is Back"

The Galaxy overcome a bad start after conceding to the highly ranked amateur side PSA Elitein the 12th minute, before two goals in the next ten minutes from the Galaxy put them in control, the second of which came from a nice pass from Keane for Zardes across the goal. Keane then bagged the next three goals of the game before a final blow to PSA's hopes ended the contest.

Keane spoke to the LA Galaxy website about getting back on the scoresheet:

As a striker, it’s always important to score goals. Ultimately, you’re judged on scoring no matter what people say. You can do what you want for the team with hard work, but people will look at goals and assists. And since I’ve been here I’ve done that and done it well. Unfortunately I’ve had a long injury and I’m not always used to not playing and when I’m injured it’s usually only a few weeks, but I was out for too long. It’s nice to be back and feeling good. I’m feeling a lot better after playing these 70 minutes and will hopefully continue to score more goals and play longer.
