In a strange, but so far enjoyable, web series that has seen the serialised release of short videos featuring Peter Schmeichel and Oliver Kahn talking about football, the former United keeper seized the opportunity to shower Denis Irwin in compliments when asked about under-rated players they played with. Schmeichel refers to the former Irish international as a "superstar" and was particularly enthusiastic about his reliability.
Oliver Kahn had no opinion to offer, clearly favouring flashy, in-your-face full-backs such as Philip Lahm and Michael Tarnat. We hope he went home and did his Denis Irwin homework.
