Patrick Roberts is due to end his loan spell with Celtic and return to Manchester City midway through next season, although judging by his first half performance against Aberdeen this afternoon, Pep Guardiola may be eager to end the loan spell earlier than scheduled. Roberts, despite an awful miss in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers, has been a revelation at times this season, and his precocious quality was on show against at Celtic Park this afternoon. The goal brought some not-entirely-serious comparisons with Lionel Messi, but the goal it reminded us most of was this Steve Mcmanaman solo effort in the same net -albeit against Celtic - in 1997:
Roberts also scored the second goal, as Celtic lead Aberdeen 2-0 at half-time.
