On this day 28 years ago Diego Maradona gave the world two of the most memorable moments ever seen on a football pitch. It seems only fair that we mark that anniversary with a bow to Maradona's second greatest talent, his fantastic lack of diplomacy skills. We've already seen him failing to make amends with the English, now it's the turn of the president of the Argentinian Football Association to invoke the ire of El Pibe De Oro.
After pictures emerged of Diego leaving the stadium before Messi's late winner against Iran yesterday, Julio Grondona called Maradona a mufa (which, as we all know, is Spanish for curse or jinx). Argentinians, being the superstitious bunch they are, took this to heart. #Maradonamufa was even trending across South America.
During an appearance on Argentinian television later in the day, Maradona had the chance to reply in a manner we've all come to expect from him.
