Ludogorets advanced to the Champion League group stages after defeating Steaua Bucharest 6-5 in a dramatic penalty shoot-out. Their goalkeeper, Vladislav Stoyanov, was sent off in the 119th of play.

As all their subs had been used, their centre half Cosmin Moti had to stand in goal for the penalties. He proceeded to save two penalties and score one himself as Ludogorets won out. After saving the decisive penalty he leapt into the crowd.
