Perennial Tottenham transfer target Leandro Damiao has never really hit the lofty heights that were expected of him. Now 25, the Brazilian international is still plying his trade in his native country having moved to Santos from Internacional at the start of the year.
Given the dearth of talent up front for Brazil, Damiao should probably have a monopoly on the number nine jersey for the Selecao but his early promise has been hampered by injuries and dips in form. Now it looks like he might have to make do with a career in the Brasileiro.
However, that does not mean that Damiao cannot continue to command headlines the world over with the kind of near laughable 'gamesmanship' that he showed during his side's 3-0 loss to Criciuma on Sunday night. Unsurprisingly the referee didn't fall for his self shirt pulling antics.
