Kenny Cunningham is proving to be a real antagonistic character in the RTÉ studio this World Cup and I have to say, I love it.
On Wednesday evening's coverage of the Argentina and Nigeria game, Kenny took issue with Ezequiel Lavezzi squirting his manager with water as he was being instructed on the sideline, believing it to be a major sign of disrespect. Richie Sadlier took the other side of the argument, saying that there wasn't much in the incident and that they could not fully understand the relationship between the player and manager simply from the pictures. Stay until the end to hear Richie telling Kenny that's he's "getting too angry about everything."
The former Ireland centre-back and Didi Hamann also ganged up on Colombia bringing on 43-year-old Faryd Mondragon (who claimed the record for oldest ever player in the World Cup) against Japan on Tuesday night with Sadlier once again providing the balance.
This is all on top of the nicely building antagonism between Cunningham and Eamon Dunphy. Those two really do not seem to like each other. Paddy Power need to offer a market on there being a Peter Campbell and Layne Pryce style fight in the studio between the two before the end of the tournament.
