One of the topics which Barton talked about was his sending off against Man City on the final day of the 2011/12 season, a game which we mostly now remember for Sergio Aguero's goal that won City the title.

Barton's actions that day got him banned for 12 games. He has now said he did not lose his mind, instead the kneeing of Sergio Aguero:

was a cold, calculated decision to try and even it up.

Though he does look back now and think, "it was a lunatic that made that decision."
