Given that Martin O'Neill tends to pick almost every fit Irish player in England when he names his provisional squads, it's hard to know what to make of Harry Arter's place in the squad to take on Poland.

The Bournemouth midfielder would certainly add something different from the bench were he to make it to the final squad. Arter is a technical central midfielder who is more comfortable in the opposing half than he is in his own.

Staring in a Bournemouth team who are pushing for promotion to the Premier League and playing some wonderful football while their at it, could see Arter make a real name for himself in a green jersey. But what can he add?

Arter has developed a reputation as an consistent goalscorer from outside the box this year and he showed that ability once again last night with this excellent strike during the 1-1 draw away to Cardiff.
