Forget about the Second Captains Good Wall. The real barometer of a sports star's greatness is whether or not they are included in one of our favourite Eamon Dunphy cliches.
While lauding Leo Messi for his performance against Bayern Munich, Dunphy compared him to "the Brian O'Driscolls, the Tony McCoys, the Ruby Walshs, the Henry Shefflins". It's something we've heard on numerous occasions from him before. Tiger Woods was once a member of this list but his recent decline has led to him being cut. No sign yet of Rory McIlroy becoming an addition.
We're open to correction on this but we believe it's the first time Dunphy has used this line since Darragh Maloney took over from Billo. Watch the smile on his face, it's a real 'I've arrived' moment. He probably did a little fist pump under the desk.
