Chelsea are calling on the football authorities to act after videos emerged of club doctor Eva Carneiro being subjected to sexist chanting during a match at Old Trafford.
The video shows Manchester United fans at one end of the ground serenading Carneiro with the standard ditty 'Get you tits out for the lads' while one inquisitive soul asked her to 'show us where you piss from, you slag'.
The Guardian reported that a number of Arsenal fans had chanted the question 'Have you ever had a gooner up your arse?' at Carneiro.
Another incident involving Manchester City was reported by the campaign group Women in Football but no action was taken.
Women in Football have said they are gravely concerned by the lack of response.
Chelsea issued a statement in response to the chanting this evening.
The issue of equality is one we take extremely seriously and we abhor discrimination in all its forms, including sexism.
Such behaviour is unacceptable and we want it eradicated from the game.
