These seem bad times to be an Arsenal fan. Another season of mind-numbing consistency has left a fanbase tearing itself apart, as warring factions fulminate over the future of Arsene Wenger. Official protests were scheduled for the twelfth and seventy-eight minutes of today's game against Norwich, as supporters expressed their anger at a twelfth season without a league title. The first protest instead engendered much support for Wenger, as the sizeable rift between supporters became evident:
Pockets of Arsenal fans arguing with each other as the 12th minute protest against Wenger begins. Crescendo of 'Arsene, we love you'

Some arguing among themselves. Most of crowd now singing 'Arsene we love you'.

I'd say less than 10% of crowd holding up those poor banners. 'Time for change'. Christ. Like a bad election manifesto.

Before the game, Wenger was subject to a hideous chant from a small minority of Arsenal supporters:
A video of that chant has since surfaced:
It is clearly a small minority of Arsenal fans who are that visceral in their hatred, but it is disturbing nonetheless. It would appear that Wenger still enjoys the bulk of the Arsenal support, but you get the feeling that things cannot continue for much longer as they are. Something has got to break. For Wenger's own health, perhaps it is better if this ends sooner rather than later.
