Thankfully the imminent arrival of the Euros has meant that everyone is preoccupied enough to pay little attention to usual glut of transfer rumour garbage that does the rounds at this time of the year. However there are some stories which we simply can't ignore and when the custodians of good judgement at The Guardian break a possible deal then it's definitely time to at least pay a smidgen of attention.
So unsurprisingly the internet is in a tizzy after their journalist Stuart James tweeted that he has heard Arsenal have triggered Jamie Vardy's release clause.
Understand that Arsenal have triggered the release clause in Jamie Vardy's contract. Leicester still determined to keep hold of him.

The fee is thought to be in the region of £20m and it certainly would be a change from Wenger's usual transfer policy - of buying unimposing attacking midfielders from the continent - should the deal go through. However, even if they have triggered the clause, it can't be taken as a given that Vardy will want to leave. Premier League champions, manager who loves you, postman who looks exactly like you and all that jazz.
