They went in to the competition as one of the favourites but, even though his international ban had come to an end, Luis Suarez was unable to help Uruguay from falling at the first hurdle in this year's Copa America.
A 1-0 defeat to Venezuela, coupled with Mexico's 2-0 win over Jamaica ensures that Suarez and co. are out at the group stage without the Barcelona magician even being able to take to the field. Suarez was included in the squad despite carrying a hamstring injury into the tournament.
It was decided however, that he still wasn't fit for the Venezuela clash. Uruguay were presumably expecting to beat their South American rivals, then take three points of Jamaica and unleash a fully fit Suarez during the knockout stages.

That's not quite how it played out however and Suarez didn't take to kindly to any of it. The only problem was that he wasn't even listed among the substitutes so, even if Oscar Tabarez had decided to risk him during the game, he simply wouldn't have been able.
Try telling that to Suarez though.

And just in case we won't be seeing enough of it over the coming weeks, the former Liverpool striker even decided to switch allegiances and go all shoes off for the boys in green.
