There are rumours that Louis Van Gaal's appointment as Man United manager is imminent have strengthened today, The Guardian reporting that the club hope to complete the deal this week.
Fans of Roy Keane will be disappointed to hear that The Guardian are now saying it looks like Ryan Giggs will appointed as assistant to Van Gaal. The Dutch manager's current assistant Patrick Kluivert also looks set to join the coaching staff.
Even though the odds of Giggs getting the managerial post on a permanent basis have shortened after their convincing win over Norwich, it would seem that he will have to settle for the assistant role. However Giggs has refused to be drawn on his United future.
On Friday, there were reports that Alex Ferguson would block any potential move from Van Gaal to make Roy Keane his assistant.
The Dutch training camp starts on 7 May so his appointment as United could be announced before then.
