The problems at Everton have gone to boiling point across today, with players confronted after today's 2-1 loss to Southampton.

Today's loss has seen Frank Lampard's side drop to 19th, with just one win in their last 10 games. With Lampard under pressure, and the owners continuing to frustrate fans, it reached dangerous levels of anger.

Before today's game, Everton released a statement instructing directors not to attend today's game, due to 'real and credible credible threat to their safety and security', which they accepted.

When the team bus arrived into Goodison Park, the fans made their voices heard. Unfortunately for them, it was another day to forget.

Despite going into the interval with a 1-0 lead through Amadou Onana, two James Ward-Prowse goals gave Southampton a vital win, with Everton fans booing their side off the pitch at full-time.

After surviving a relegation scrap by the skin of their teeth, Frank Lampard would have been keen to avoid another stressful situation.

However, through a lack of investment, questionable tactics and injuries, they find themselves in the same situation, with fans frustrations boiling over.

After the game, centre-back Yerry Mina was confronted by a group of angry fans, who demanded answers for their form as fears grow of relegation.

It didn't stop there however, as winger Anthony Gordon was targeted by fans while in his car. Videos have circulated online of fans chasing his car, as chants were directed at him saying "You're not fit to wear the jersey".

Gordon was wanted by Chelsea last summer, with bids of up to £60 million rejected by the club a decision they may regret.

With fellow struggling club West Ham awaiting them next weekend, something has to change for Everton, and quickly, as patience has now ended among fans with this current side.
